Design · 2–4 seconds
A driver sees your advertisement for 2–4 seconds. Here is how to make every second count along the A28.
How outdoor advertising works
At 120 km/h, a driver has 2–4 seconds to take in your message. Keep it short and powerful. One central message.
Use dark text on a light background or the other way round. Avoid soft pastels. Your logo must be recognisable from a distance.
Use bold, legible lettering. No decorative or script typefaces. Sans-serif works best on LED screens.
One strong visual focus. A busy composition with several elements gets skipped. Simple = effective.
A short web address is allowed; other contact details are not. Do not put a phone number, email address, street address, social media account or QR code on the screen — nobody writes that down from a moving car. The web address may be used in support: so without https://, without paths and without tracking codes. Your logo or company name and one short message remain the focus.
The artwork does not promote any religious belief and contains no pornographic content. The artwork must not resemble a traffic sign or be capable of being confused with one. Ordinary colours, shapes and symbols are not prohibited — it is about the combination and the context. If we are in doubt, a person looks at it before anything appears on the screen.
Use your own brand colour as a background or accent colour. You build recognition through consistency across several campaigns.
